Kamala Harris on the Campaign Trail to fight for America’s First Female President.

Post Election Update: As Kamala Harris concedes the election,  we are reminded that while we have come very far as a country, it is glaringly obvious that many are still afraid to elect a woman as President.  This sad state of affairs reflects how much we need to grow as a nation and a world that we honor the strength and fortitude of women as a force to lead the world in a better direction.

We congratulate Kamala Harris on a campaign that was hard fought and a Vice Presidency that she can be proud of.  As the first ever female Vice President, she will always be remembered in history as a woman who lead the nation in a positive direction.  Thank you, Kamala Harris, for your service and dedication to our country.

Growing up in the vibrant Bay Area, Kamala Harris was raised by a mother who embodied resilience, leadership, and strength. Watching her mother, a single parent and scientist, nurture both her and her sister, Harris learned early on the values of hard work, independence, and compassion—qualities that would ultimately shape her journey to becoming a formidable leader in her own right. Her rise from attorney to California’s District Attorney, and later to the first female Vice President of the United States, speaks to her unyielding commitment to serving “the people.”

Now, with a strong chance to become the first female President, Harris’s journey reflects a historic, full-circle moment for women, particularly women of color, in American politics. This election, however, has been nothing short of fierce. With only a brief three months to make her case to voters, Harris has met relentless competition. Yet, in true form, she’s focused on sticking to the issues that matter—economic recovery, climate change, healthcare—laying out a vision for a united future, one she believes will heal the nation’s scars.

In a campaign year marked by heavy exchanges, Harris is standing her ground, rising above the fray, and looking to a vision for America that reflects her lifelong values. Her determination to address the nation’s core issues reflects the tenacity and grit that have brought her this far. If elected, she will not only break barriers but also open new avenues for a future driven by empathy, resilience, and real change. And as her supporters watch, they see the echoes of that young girl from the Bay Area, still driven to lead by putting people first.

Kamala Harris radiates a warmth that’s both inviting and iconic. Her presence is magnetic, blending authority with a signature charm that makes her instantly relatable. In a recent, unforgettable Saturday Night Live appearance on November 2, 2024, she embraced that charm to its fullest. In a historic moment of humor and self-reflection, Harris joined Maya Rudolph—who famously impersonates her—for a skit that had the Vice President giving “herself” a lighthearted pep talk.

It was a scene that only Kamala could pull off with such grace, as she leaned into Rudolph’s comedic portrayal with a dose of wit and humility. The skit, both hilarious and empowering, symbolized the merging of real-life strength with a playful self-awareness, giving audiences a rare glimpse of Harris’s lighter side. The surprise appearance was hailed by fans and pundits alike as a masterstroke, showcasing not only her warmth but also her ability to embrace her public image with humor and authenticity.

It’s a reminder of why she resonates with so many: Kamala Harris is both the first female Vice President and a cultural icon—breaking boundaries with every smile and staying connected with the people she represents.

On the Campaign Trail

Civil rights attorney, CNN Legal Analyst, CEO of Special Needs Network, and California Democratic Delegate Areva Martin has been crisscrossing the country on a heartfelt mission. With each stop in battleground states, she’s championing her friend Kamala Harris in an effort to secure a brighter future for the nation. Martin’s passion for civil rights and justice aligns with her belief that Harris represents a hopeful and inclusive America.

“She is breaking the ultimate glass ceiling. I couldn’t be more proud of her!” Martin shared with palpable excitement. Her trust in Harris stems not only from a deep friendship but from witnessing her steadfast dedication to justice and equity—values Martin shares and fervently promotes.

On the campaign trail, Martin has encountered a groundswell of frustration among voters regarding misinformation and divisive rhetoric, which, she notes, have clouded the campaign. This atmosphere has driven her determination to amplify Harris’s message of unity and resilience.

The Power of Connection

One particular story Martin shares paints a moving picture of Harris’s empathy in action. A friend of Martin’s family—a cherished community member—recalled the moment he connected with Harris during an unimaginably difficult time. After losing his son to an opioid overdose, he received a personal call from then-District Attorney Kamala Harris, who expressed her condolences and vowed to seek justice. Her commitment to his case brought him immense comfort and has left an indelible mark on him.

“If people only knew what an amazing person she is,” he told Martin, his voice filled with gratitude and admiration. Harris’s unwavering compassion and dedication to his case forged a bond that neither time nor politics could erode.

Tragically,  the doctor was brought to account on many different cases and eventually, took his own life to avoid punishment.  When that happened, he got another call.

“I’m so sorry, coach.  We fought very hard and I know it is not fair. I wish the outcome was different.”

For the People

Martin is confident Harris embodies a leader who understands the struggles of ordinary Americans and is committed to addressing them head-on. For Martin, this election is not just political; it’s personal. Like many, she sees Harris as a testament to what women—especially women of color—can achieve, proving that when purpose meets opportunity, there is no limit.

As the election countdown continues, Areva Martin’s unwavering support for Kamala Harris shines brightly, inspiring hope for the possibility of historic change.
